LWQ Series Gas Turbine Flowmeter

Product introduction
  • The LWQ Series Gas Turbine Flowmeter is a high-accuracy gas flow meter based on the kinetic energy principle. Incoming gas is first stabilized by an inlet flow straightener, which reduces swirl and turbulence and shapes the flow profile. The conditioned gas then drives a multi-blade turbine rotor; the rotor speed is proportional to gas velocity.

  • An inductive or magnetic pickup detects the rotor movement and generates a frequency signal proportional to volumetric flow. When combined with integrated temperature and pressure sensors and a digital transmitter, LWQ can calculate standard volume flow (Nm³/h) through real-time compensation algorithms.

  • With low starting flow, small pressure loss, and excellent repeatability, LWQ is suitable for clean, dry gases in custody-related metering, process control, and energy management applications.

Example Application Scenarios
  • Industrial Natural Gas Consumption for Billing and Energy Management

LWQ installed on DN50…DN150 natural gas lines measures real-time volume and total consumption. With temperature and pressure compensation enabled, the meter provides standardized flow for cost allocation and efficiency analysis.

  • Nitrogen Flow Monitoring in Inerting / Blanketing Systems

In chemical storage tanks or reactors, LWQ tracks nitrogen flow used for inerting. The stable frequency signal and Modbus output allow accurate control and long-term recording of gas usage.

  • Compressed Air Monitoring in Multi-Line Pneumatic Networks

Turbine meters on main or branch compressed-air headers provide flow data for leakage detection and energy management. The low pressure drop design minimizes additional loading on the compressor system.

  • Flare Gas Supervision in Refining and Petrochemical Plants

LWQ installed in flare headers or side lines supports monitoring of flare gas volumes for environmental reporting and internal balance calculations, provided gas composition and cleanliness are suitable.

  • Gas Flow Control in Precision Heating Furnaces and Reactors

On fuel-gas feeds to industrial furnaces or reactors, LWQ provides repeatable flow signals to combustion control systems, helping maintain stable temperature profiles and process quality.

  • Verification of Gas Flow in Blending and Bottling Stations

In industrial gas filling or blending skids, LWQ meters each stream or the combined outlet, allowing operators to verify setpoints and maintain correct blending ratios.
