Product introduction

The MA80T-TP Series is the temperature and pressure compensated version of the MA80T vortex flowmeter, designed for steam, compressed gases and utility energy metering.

It is based on the Kármán vortex street principle: as the medium flows past a bluff body (shedder bar), alternating vortices are generated downstream. The vortex shedding frequency, proportional to flow velocity, is detected by a piezoelectric sensor and used to calculate operating volumetric flow.

The MA80T-TP integrates temperature and pressure measurement (via RTD and pressure input). Using these signals, the converter performs real-time density or standard condition corrections and provides mass flow and standard volume flow outputs, in addition to operating volumetric flow. This makes MA80T-TP especially suitable for saturated/superheated steam and compressed air/gas networks, where compensated values are required for process control, energy balance and cost allocation.
